Student ID-Card

Apply for your Student Card

When you are admitted to the University of Copenhagen you can apply for a student ID-card. You must send an electronic lifelike picture of yourself to the ID Card Department at idkort@adm.ku.dk as soon as possible after your admission. They prefer the file to be jpg format size 200 x 200 pixels named with your student id number. You can pick up your student ID-card at the International Office upon your arrival or at the Orientation Meeting which is held in the first weeks of August and September (autumn semester) and January and February (spring semester).

While Waiting for your Student Card

While you are waiting for your id card, you can follow the process on KUnet. Go to self service - ID-kort - Korthistorik

Dato  Hændelser  (English translation)
xx.xx.xxxx  Følgebrev oprett. ID-kort til DIK-stud udskrevet  (card will be sent to The International Office within a few days)
xx.xx.xxxx Kort produceret  (card produced)
xx.xx.xxxx  Billede indlæst  (picture registered)

Use of the Card

The card identifies you as a student in the University and you must remember to bring it when you sign up for and sit your exams. You also use the card as a key to access University facilities outside regular opening hours, to benefit from student discounts in bookshops, museums, theatres etc., and as a library card.

If you Lose your Card

You can block your Student ID card at KUnet. The function in KUnet is still in Danish. In order to block your card, log on to KUnet, choose Student self-service --> ID kort --> spær ID kort --> tick the box and click spær valgte. A new Student ID card will automatically be sent to you within a few working days.

When you are admitted to the University of Copenhagen, you will be assigned an e-mail account with the University. You will receive information about this in your letter of admission. We will use this e-mail address to contact you both prior to and during your stay in Copenhagen, so please make sure to check your University of Copenhagen account regularly.
