Do I have to learn Danish prior to my arrival?
No, the University of Copenhagen currently offers more than 500 courses in English.

Does The Unviersity of Copenhagen require proof of English proficiency?
The University of Copenhagen only requires proof of English language proficiency from exchange students who are non-native English speakers if they wish to apply for one or more of the following fields:

Education
English Studies
Film & Media Studies
Geography/Geoinformatics
Geology/Geoscience
Philosophy
Rhetoric

We accept one of the following tests:

Toefl Internet-based: 79-80
Toefl Computer-based: 213
Toefl Paper-based: 550
IELTS: 6.0
CAE or CPE: C

What is a TOEFL test?
The TOEFL test is used as proof of English proficiency.

All Individual Guest Students who are non-native speakers of English are required to provide proof of their English language proficiency. Proof of this must be forwarded directly from the testing centre to the University of Copenhagen. Required minimum scores:

What is a University of Cambridge IELTS test?
The IELTS test is used as proof of English proficiency.

All Individual Guest Students who are non-native speakers of English are required to provide proof of their English language proficiency. If you sit an IELTS test you must obtain a minimum socre of 6.0. We recommend you sit the IELTS Academic. Proof of your language proficiency must be forwarded directly from the testing centre to the University of Copenhagen. Information about the University of Cambridge IELTS test is available online.
