1) Who is my coordinator?
Your coordinator is stated in your letter of admission. You can find contact details in the University online phone book.
2) I want to extend my stay. What should I do?
This is the procedure to follow:
- Contact your department and apply for extension at the department. If you take courses in more than one department and plan to do so again next semester you need letters from all the departments in order to be able to take their courses.
- Contact your home university and get a letter / e-mail stating that you can extend your period of stay.
- Take the two letters / e-mails to The International Office. We will than register your extension in the university’s student database. You will receive a letter of extension from The International Office. Your current student card is then valid for the next semester as well.
3) I have lost my Student ID card, can you give me a new one?
If you have lost your ID card you can block it in order to avoid misusage. When you block your ID card you do not need to order a new. A new card will automatically be produced for you using the same photo. You can block your ID card via KUnet on the menu Self Service/Selvbetjening -> Id-kort.
If you do not have access to KUnet, please contact the IT Office, IT-service@adm.ku.dk
Students are not required to pay a fee for a new ID card.
4) Does the University of Copenhagen have a phone book?
Yes, the University of Copenhagen has an online phone book. You can find it in the top menu of the University website. Or by following this link.

In general: No.
Students who receive SU (State Educational Grant) qualify for student discount. For more information, please see the SU website. The International Office can not give advice regarding SU.
6) I would like to apply for a student job. Where should I look?
Student jobs can be difficult to find. All student jobs at the University of Copenhagen are announced on the KU Jobbank site, where you will also find references to companies with an international profile.
7) I am going back home, are there things I need to take care of?
Please see our website --> going back home, which will give you information regarding transcript, housing and the Danish Registration Office.
You must notify the International Office immediately, should you decide to cancel your stay before expected.
8) How can I change my address?
Please change your address by logging on to www.kunet.dk, choose "guest students" in the left hand menu and then address in the right hand menu.
This way you have access to changing your address yourself.
9) Where can I buy a bicycle?
You can find suggestions of places to buy a bicycle on our website --> Arriving and living in Copenhagen. There is also a notice board at the International Office where departing exchange students sell their bikes. You are of course welcome to stop by and have a look.
