Scholarships and loans

The Danish Governmental Scholarship is the only Danish scholarship opportunity available to international master's degree students at the University of Copenhagen – Faculty of Humanities.

The Faculty of Humanities typically awards 1-3 scholarships per year. The scholarship consists of a full waiver of the tuition fees for the two-year master’s programme, in addition to a monthly stipend for 22 months. Applicants receive the scholarship decision along with the admission decision – typically by mid-March.

Non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicants who have submitted a complete application are automatically assessed for the Danish Governmental Scholarship. Applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application.

The scholarship is awarded for overall outstanding academic performance. Please note that applicants who fulfill the English language requirement by the application deadline (15 January) are typically prioritized higher for the scholarship than applicants who do not submit documentation of their English language proficiency by the application deadline.
