Omics – University of Copenhagen

Master of Science (MSc) in Omics

MSc in Omics is offered in close collaboration between University of Aarhus, Technical University of Denmark, University of Copenhagen, University of Southern Denmark, CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and GUCAS (Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences) as part of the transnational cooperation between China and Denmark, Sino Danish Centre for Education and Research (SDC).

The program is offered in English and takes place in China.

The study of Omics concerns research in the post-genomic area of bioscience where data from public available databases are crucial in the design of experiments and the interpretation of the attained data. It builds on holistic research methods which combine the hypothesis-based approach with the data- and technology-based approach. Omics encompass several different areas such as proteomics, transcriptomics, interatomics, and metabolomics. For instance, proteomics concerns the study of (potentially) all expressed proteins in a given biological system.

The Master of Science (MSc) programme in Omics incorporates significant interdisciplinary content with a substantial contribution from Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, analytical biochemistry and computer science/IT.
