Student ID-Card and Email

ID-Card

When you are admitted to the University of Copenhagen you can apply for a student ID-card. You must upload an electronic lifelike picture of yourself through Self-Service on KUnet as soon as possible after your admission. The ID Office prefers the file to be jpg format size 200x200 pixels.

Exchange students can pick up their student ID-card in the UCPH Student Centre.

While Waiting for your Student Card

While you are waiting for your ID-card, you can follow the process on the University intranet  KUnet. Go to self service --> ID-kort --> Korthistorik.

Use of the Card

The card identifies you as a student at the University and you must remember to bring it when you sign up for and sit your exams. You also use the card as a key to access University facilities outside regular opening hours, to benefit from student discounts in bookshops, museums, theatres etc., and as a library card.

If you Lose your Card

You can block your Student ID card at KUnet. The function in KUnet is still in Danish. In order to block your card, log on to KUnet, choose Student self-service --> ID kort --> spær ID kort --> tick the box and click "spær valgte". A new Student ID-card will automatically be sent to the Student Centre in Fiolstraede 1 within a few working days. Opening hours of the Student Centre: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12 to 15 p.m. Write to INT-admission@adm.ku.dk to check if it has arrived before you come to pick it up.

E-mail

When you are admitted to the University of Copenhagen, you will be assigned an e-mail account with the University. You will receive information about this in your letter of admission. The University uses this e-mail address to contact you both prior to and during your stay in Copenhagen, so please make sure to check your University of Copenhagen account regularly.
