Documentation for your application - International Bachelor’s degree

EU, EEA or Swiss citizens

We use your documentation to evaluate whether you are qualified for admission to the MSc programme.

You need to upload all your documentation (except your official diploma) in the application portal when you create your application.

Required documentation

Transcript of grades

Please upload an official transcript of grades of the degree you have completed or are currently enrolled in which carries: an official stamp and a signature from your university.

If the transcript is in a language other than English or a Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian)

  • Please include an official English translation. An official translation must carry the stamp and signature of your educational institution.
  • If your educational institution cannot provide you with an official translation, an authorized translator, who stamps and signs the document, must carry out the translation.

Self-assessment

You must make a self-assessment, when your bachelor’s degree does not automatically fulfill the academic requirements.

What is a self-assessment?

The self-assessment is an overview of the courses from your bachelor’s degree, which cover the specific admission requirements of the MSc programme at UCPH.

Please include completed courses as well as courses you will complete before study start in September as part of your Bachelor’s degree.

If your educational institution does not use the ECTS credit system

Course destriptions of former courses

In the course descriptions of former courses (undertaken in your Bachelor’s degree), you need to include the courses relevant to the MSc programme you are applying for.

The course descriptions have to be in English or a Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian). We accept course descriptions translated by yourself.

What is valid as a course description?

The document can be photocopies from your educational institute's academic handbook, course lists or printouts from the website. They should describe what was required of you in order to complete the courses, what you studied and the hours of study of each course.

If your educational institute does not offer course descriptions

We accept course descriptions written by yourself. Please be sure to include:

  • All topics covered in the courses
  • What was required to complete the courses
  • Credits of the courses
  • Hours of lectures
  • Literature used in connection with the courses

C.V.

Please upload an updated version of your C.V. (curriculum vitae) including a chronological overview of your academic history.

A photo is not necessary.

Documentation of current courses

If you are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s programme

If you have not completed your bachelor’s degree, please upload documentation of the courses you expect to pass before the start of the MSc programme at UCPH in September.

The documentation can be an overview provided by your educational institute (e.g. a printout from your university’s self-service).

Completed exams or courses of an MSc Programme

If you have completed courses or exams from a previous unfinished MSc Programme, you need to upload documentation of these results. You are also obligated to inform us whether you have completed an MSc Programme.

We use the documentation to evaluate whether you are eligible for mandatory credit transfer.

The documentation can be:

  • A copy or a scan of official transcripts, or
  • Diplomas for all completed courses/exams at your former MSc Programme

Proof of English language proficiency

Different types of documentation

Depending on your native language, citizenship or Bachelor’s degree there are 4 different ways in which you can document your proof of English language proficiency.

Remember to upload your language documentation before deadline 1 June

If you fail to prove your language proficiency before the deadline (1 June) your admission will be cancelled.

Copy or scan of passport

We also accept a copy of an official national id document or id card in English as long as it includes:

  • Photo
  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Nationality
  • Gender

If you have more than one citizenship
Should you have more than one passport (citizenship) please copy the passport which you will use to travel to Denmark.

Official diploma

If you are offered admission, you are required to document that you have completed your Bachelor's degree no later than 20 September.

Therefore, we need a copy (a scanned version is not sufficient) of your official diploma, which carries: an official stamp and a signature from your former university.

If the diploma is in a language other than English or a Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian)

Please include an official English translation. If your educational institution cannot provide you with an official translation, an authorized translator, who stamps and signs the document, must carry out the translation.

We can receive your diploma in the following ways

  • Bring it to Help Desk at SCIENCE Student Services
    Bring your original official diploma and a copy to Help Desk at SCIENCE Student Services.

  • Get your former university to send us an email
    The email have to be sent from an official university administration email account to: msc-admissions@science.ku.dk

    Furthermore, it must state that you have completed your bachelor’s degree at their institution and it must include:

    • Your full name
    • Date of birth
    • Title of your degree
    • Date of completion of your degree

  • Send it by regular mail to this address

Non-required documentation

  • Letter of motivation or personal statement
  • Statements or evaluations from lecturers, professors, employers, etc.
  • Documentation of pre-university activities (for example high school education)

It is only the required documentation, which we evaluate, so please upload only required documentation.

If you do not have all the required documentation when applying

  • If you do not have all of the documentation ready when you submit your application, you need to upload a note (e.g. a pdf) indicating when you expect to have the documentation and upload it in place of the attachment.
  • You can only submit your application if you upload documents where you are requested to upload a document.

Anything missing with your application?

  • We assess whether your application is complete by looking through the required documentation. If anything is missing, we will send you a message in the application portal and an e-mail notifying you a message has arrived.
  • Your deadline for uploading any missing documents will be 1 week from the time we contact you. So make sure you check your e-mail every day. Remember to check your spam filter too.

Verification of information

If we determine you have used falsified or misleading documentation in your application, we are obliged to report it to the police and to cancel your admission.
