Master of Arts (MA) in English Studies
Restricted admission to the MA in English Studies
Government-imposed legislation resulting in a cap on the annual intake of students has resulted in restricted admission to the MA in English. This means only a limited number of study places are available in the programme.
The University of Copenhagen is required by law to admit applicants in accordance with the selection criteria, which is published under "Admission Requirements" on the programme’s website.
For the Autumn 2016 intake, study places were allocated to applicants with reserved or direct access. Pursuant to the imposed cap on the admission intake, applicants with other bachelor's degree qualifications – including international students with foreign bachelor qualifications - were not granted admission to the MA in English Studies.
Consequently, it is unlikely that the University of Copenhagen will be able to admit international students to the MA in English Studies next year as well. We ask you, as a prospective international applicant, to take this information into consideration when applying for the programme in 2017.
English is not only mother tongue to more than 300 million people, it is also a world language – it is the language of globalization, the Internet and media.
The programme is offered in English.
