This programme trains you to work with the development of sustainable biological production of foods, biomaterials, biologicals, and environmental technologies related to these productions. Biosolutions is based in Kalundborg, Denmark’s new biotechnology powerhouse, close to world-leading biotech companies like Novo Nordisk, Novozymes, Chr. Hansen, and many others.

The programme is offered in English.

You become an expert in biological-based systems for industrial processes. You will acquire knowledge about, for example, industrial microorganisms, raw materials, enzymes, processing, and by-products. You learn how to develop new bio-based products and methods for recycling resources e.g., in food production, bioenergy, water and waste treatment technologies, plant biologicals, and biomaterials. You also learn how to adapt biological systems, and how to analyse and optimise manufacturing processes.

Most of the courses are taught in close collaboration with the biotech industry, and you will have many opportunities to write your Master’s thesis together with a company.
