1. Transcript of records

All applicants must submit a transcript of records.

We accept unofficial transcripts from the electronic registrar system of your home university if the document includes your name and the name of your home university. We accept documents in Danish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Swedish and Norwegian. However, in some instances an English translation will be required. In this case, we will notify you by e-mail.

2. Proof of English proficiency for non-native English speakers

IMPORTANT: Only required if you are applying for one or more of the following study fields:

  • Studies in English/American Language and Culture
  • Studies in Film & Media Studies
  • Studies in Information Science (only required for non-EU/EEA students)
  • Studies in Philosophy

Proof of English proficiency is only required if you are applying to one or more of the following subjects:

  • English/American Language and Culture
  • Film & Media Studies
  • Information Science (only required for non-EU/EEA students)
  • Philosophy
  • Political Science 

Note that Scandinavian students and students enrolled at an institution in an English-speaking country are exempt from documenting English language proficiency.

For all other students, the following subjects require proof of English proficiency: 

English/American Language and Culture:

  • TOEFL iBT (incl. "at home" version): minimum score: 80
  • TOEFL Computer-based: minimum score: 213
  • TOEFL Paper-based: minimum score: 550
  • IELTS: minimum score: 6.0
  • Cambridge English C1 Advanced: minimum score B
  • Cambridge English C2 Proficiency: minimum score C

Film & Media Studies and Philosophy:

We require one of the above mentioned tests. However, the departments are also willing to consider institutional tests or statements regarding the students’ English proficiency issued by the home university.

Information Science:

IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.5
Cambridge English C2 Proficiency passed
Paper-based TOEFL test with a minimum score of 560
TOEFL iBT (incl. "at home" version) with a minimum score of 83

Political Science:

  • Documentation for CEF level: B2
  • TOEFL iBT (incl. "at home" version): minimum score: 80
  • TOEFL Computer-based: minimum score: 213
  • TOEFL Paper-based: minimum score: 550
  • IELTS: minimum score: 6.0
  • Cambridge English C1 Advanced: minimum score B
  • Cambridge English C2 Proficiency: minimum score C
